The Second Volume of the Economics Survey (2016-17) was released on August 11, 2017. The 458-page Second Volume was tabled in Parliament six months after the first volume. It contains 10 chapters. The Chief Economic Adviser, Arvind Subramanian, in his preface, points out that as the second volume "appears almost half-a-year (an event-rich period with GST implementation, demonetisation impact, farm stress, etc.) after the first volume, a fresh macro-economic update with an analytical review of the pressing issues seemed necessary".
