With the next General Election scheduled for May, 2019, the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) Vote on Account, 2019-20, contained announcements that favoured important segments of the electorate: farmers, informal workers, and salaried employees. The Vote on Account was presented to the Lok Sabha on February 1, 2019, by Piyush Goyal, Union Finance Minister. Arun Jaitley, who presented the previous NDA government's budgets since 2014, was undergoing medical treatment in the U.S. [Related link].
